  • Track record of independence in leading scientific projects and a strong publication record in QSP modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and apply QSP modeling approaches to support decision making within the neurology therapeutic area.
  • Develop and implement mechanistic modeling strategies to support project team M&S needs.
  • Communicate modeling predictions to key stakeholders to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Identify and interpret preclinical and clinical data critical for model development and refinement.
  • Stay current with advances in systems pharmacology and regulatory expectations for model-informed drug development.
  • Contribute to abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Perform duties independently with minimal supervision and mentor others.

The DM group is part of Quantitative Pharmacology department within the Translational Medicine Unit in the R&D organization of Sanofi.

We are seeking an experienced Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) Modeler to develop and apply mechanistic, multiscale models that inform drug discovery and development decisions across the R&D pipeline. The successful candidate will independently lead QSP modeling efforts, integrate diverse biological and clinical data, and translate model insights into actionable recommendations for project teams. This role partners closely with research, quantitative pharmacology, and clinical stakeholders to enable model-informed decision making. The position is based in Morristown, NJ.

Main Responsibilities
  • Interface with project team in aligning M&S needs and develop QSP strategy to address needs.

Qualifications
About you:
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Applied mathematics, Systems Biology/Pharmacology or related fields.
  • 6 years of hands-on QSP modeling experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with demonstrated impact on R&D programs.
  • Track record of productivity, with evidence of independence in leading scientific projects. Strong publication record in QSP modeling commensurate with experience.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages like Matlab/R/Julia (Matlab preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience using QSP models to directly influence go/nogo decisions, and competitive differentiation within pharma setting.
  • Deep understanding of disease biology within at least one therapeutic area and experience applying QSP across multiple programs or drug modalities.
  • experience working with heterogeneous datasets, including preclinical, and clinical data.
  • Experience with best practices for reproducible, welldocumented modeling workflows.
  • Proven ability to lead modeling workstreams and clearly communicate quantitative insights to scientific and nonscientific stakeholders, tailoring complexity to the audience.
  • Experience mentoring junior scientists.
Knowledge And Skills Desirable But Not Essential
  • Understanding of neurology, neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration
  • Exposure to regulatory interactions or documentation involving modeling and simulation.
