Job summary

Boston University seeks an Associate Director, Post-Award Services, Sponsored Programs, to lead a team responsible for the financial review and reporting for sponsored projects in Boston. This role reports to the Assistant Vice President and focuses on ensuring accurate financial management and timely closeouts.

The AD will guide a high-performing team, deliver high-quality service to faculty and sponsors, and drive process improvements, including leveraging AI tools to enhance response accuracy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, in the fields of business, accounting, or finance. 8+ years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve cost transfers, financial reports, and award closeout activities.
  • Provide high-quality service to faculty, administrators, colleagues, and sponsors in managing the financial aspects of sponsored projects.
  • Develop and manage a team of professionals to provide excellent service.
  • Deliver results to internal and external customers while balancing sponsor requirements, compliance, and programmatic needs.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI solutions to streamline customer interactions and provide data-driven insights.
  • Use analytic data skills to support initiatives, process changes, and improve team performance.
