Job description

Working under the general direction of the Director or Vice President of Operations, the Associate Director, PFS serves as the primary leader for our assigned clients. This position will be responsible for the activities and operations related to billing, insurance and self-pay follow-up, denial appeals, and resolution of credits/refunds. Additionally, the position will monitor goals and objectives for all areas of responsibility, including clearly defined Key Performance Indicators. The Associate Director will participate in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures, monitor workflow priorities and standards, and oversee all work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. The Associate Director will possess both technical and business skills to manage accounts receivables successfully and will perform all job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare, billing, finance, and accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HFMA MAP and industry-standard revenue cycle performance metrics
  • Ability to review data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to management
  • Research issues to determine whether they are isolated instances or trends, and follow up with Revenue Cycle leadership for resolution
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to establish and develop collaborative relationships with other leaders in the Revenue Cycle
  • Experience in researching and resolving denials
  • Participation in committees and task forces as assigned
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards affecting processes and systems
  • Strict confidentiality of all patient, employee, and physician information
  • Commitment to personal growth through meetings, conferences, and courses
  • Effective tact and sensitivity in communication
  • Participation in policy and procedure development
  • Service on departmental or institutional committees as requested
  • Performs additional job functions as needed

Staff Management Responsibilities:

  • Hire, review, discipline, and separate employment
  • Monitor and report daily/monthly productivity
  • Ensure team compliance with policies and procedures
  • Manage timesheets and monitor time off requests
  • Ability to fill in for Managers when necessary

What You Will Need :

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • 10+ years of Healthcare and/or Revenue Cycle Experience
