Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks an experienced Associate Director of Retail/Outpatient Pharmacy Services to lead ambulatory pharmacy programs and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include supervision of staff, program development, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across clinical and administrative teams to improve access, quality, and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or school.
• Current NYS Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Minimum five years in outpatient/retail pharmacy operations.
• Minimum three years in pharmacy administration or management.
• Experience with 340B program operations and compliance.
• Knowledge of NYS and federal pharmacy laws and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for daily outpatient/retail pharmacy operations and ensure compliance.
• Develop and expand ambulatory pharmacy programs such as specialty and transitions-of-care.
• Oversee budgeting, inventory, reimbursement, and revenue optimization.
• Lead and develop pharmacy staff, including scheduling and training.
• Collaborate with clinical, financial, IT, and regulatory stakeholders on initiatives.
