Job summary

Tyson Foods seeks a hands‑on operations leader to support the Case Ready Value Add division, driving safety, yield and capacity across facilities. You will help develop procedures, identify improvements, and monitor capacity while collaborating with Operations, FSQA and Margin Management.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, safety, and an ability to resolve production and quality issues across multiple plants, with travel and relocation as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or college degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related industry experience; meat processing facility preferred (pork or beef).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA and HAACP regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead people and collaborate across assets to meet safety, production and quality goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support Case Ready Value Add operations and ensure safety, labor, cost and yield targets.
  • Develop new product operating procedures and drive operational improvements.
  • Identify and manage opportunities to improve capacity and efficiency across facilities.
  • Coordinate with Operations, FSQA and Margin Management on key initiatives.
  • Own operational issues, yields, production opportunities and quality concerns.

Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting the Case Ready Value Add division in managing all operational functions for the business. It will also include working closely with all facilities to ensure safety, labor, cost, and yield targets are achieved. In addition to the base operational activities, this role will also be responsible for developing all new product operating procedures, identifying and managing operational improvement opportunities, and communicating and monitoring the overall capacity for the business unit. This position will work closely with Operations, FSQA, and Margin Management to ensure alignment on all key initiatives and objectives. Finally, this role will own any operations related issues, yields, production opportunities and quality issues, as they arise. In addition to championing Tyson's core values and cultural tenets, this role will be held accountable for delivering financial and business objectives that include but are not limited to capital projects, conversion cost goals, yield goals, inventory levels and total plant capacity.

Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 plus years of related industry; experience supporting operations in a meat processing facility pork or beef preferred; and knowledge of OSHA, USDA and HAACP regulations.
  • Experience: 5 plus years of experience preferred, combination of work and further education beyond a BS considered.
  • Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of food and industrial processes and demonstrate the ability to motivate and drive plant personnel. Familiarity with sales, marketing and R&D processes preferred.
  • Other Requirements: Lead people by example and influence others without direct authority; accept responsibility; display sound judgment and decision‑making skills; problem solve in an efficient manner with sound follow up; strong leadership and relationship‑building skills necessary; excellent safety and attendance records. Ability to work with department heads across assets to meet safety production and quality yields and meet goals. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality and legality.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills. Strong analytical skills a must.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills - both formal and informal; ability to communicate within all levels of the organization; highly collaborative leadership style; ability to lead effectively and handle conflict in a cross‑functional integration role.
  • Supervisory: Currently none.
  • Travel: 20+ trips per year.
