Associate Director of Technology Main Work Location: Historic Stanford Campus Schedule: Hybrid (at least 3 days per week on site) Budgeted Salary Range: The expected pay range for this position is $124,602 to $151,091 per annum.

We ensure that institutional,governmental andprivate funds areadministered incompliance with the highest standards of fiscal responsibilityTheFinancialAidOffice(FAO)seeksanAssociateDirector ofTechnology toprovidespecific requirements and/or design solutions forbusiness information systems andincorporate new technical systems to improve workflow, production, efficiency and effectiveness.

Examples of Core Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designinganexpeditedsystemprocessflowtomeetademand for faster aid application turnaround during a high-volume packaging season.
  • Determining thebestway to utilize system resources to comply with a new federalreporting requirement with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Refining the logic behind a customized financialaidawardnotificationprocesstoaccommodate separationofdirect and indirect costs in the student budget.
  • Managing the department's testingofquarterly regulatory updates tofinancial aid software.
Core Duties
  • Translate business processes into system requirements and/ordevelopment of systems solutions.

  • Analyze new business requirements, assist with feasibility ofenhancement requests, system functionality, current system use and userneeds.

  • Specify functional analysis and design and work with developersand analysts to recommend solutions and resolve system issues.

  • Review, research and evaluate software to determine itsusefulness and appropriateness as related to existing or proposedbusiness systems; assist or develop preliminary and detailed systemdesign documentation.

  • Perform testing of new systems, upgrades and patching of existingsystems; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

  • Develop instructional materials, training and job aids.

  • Advise users requiring assistance in solving complex problems orissues regarding management and business systems.

  • Analyze data and provide data sets to users for analysis. Mayinclude development of operational and analytical reports for endusers.

  • Liaise with external vendors or partners in support of businesssystems, which may include system development, implementation and/oroperations.

  • Coordinate the implementation of new or modified businesssystems.

Minimum Education andExperience:

Bachelor's degree and five years relevant experience or a combinationof education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes,and workflow.

  • Experience with enterprise applications and understanding ofdatabase driven applications.

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in conductingmanagement studies and in systems analysis.

  • Current knowledge of rapidly changing computertechnology.

  • Skill in conducting interviews and facilitating groupmeetings.

  • Skill in developing and conducting training programs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertiseand business needs.

  • Strong listening, negotiation and conflict resolutionskills.

  • Ability to design and document complex business systems.

  • Proven problem solving and analytical thinking and ability toapproach problems logically and systematically.
