Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required for new hires; internal transfers/promotions may require BSN within 6 months.
• Requires current RN license in state of practice and BLS certification.
• Two years of clinical management experience relevant to patient population.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the specialty area and strong critical thinking.
• Excellent communication, influence, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the Medical Surgical unit to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Lead quality and process improvement initiatives with input from staff and director.
• Coordinate system-wide and unit initiatives communication across teams.
• Oversee operational and capital budgets and resource use.
• Develop staff leadership through shared leadership models and career development.
• Hire, orient, onboard, and retain qualified staff; coach performance and development.
• Develop leaders of entry-level nurse managers and drive clinical improvement initiatives.
