PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Site specific Director, coordinator and evaluator of clinical operations and is responsible for the operational management of nursing in the community group practices and ambulatory clinics. In conjunction with the Regional director, Gotham Health administrative and medical leadership to develop and implement the strategic plan of the assigned regional community health sites. Acts as a change agent, leader and role model for the nursing profession with the goal of having nurses work at the top of their licenses.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• F in ance and Budget: Assist in developing operating budget for personnel service (PS) and other than personnel services (OTPS). Monitors variance activity on a monthly basis. Consistently reviews department budget, trends and implement cost containment strategies as needed. As part of the regional senior leadership team responsible for the designated sites productivity including monitoring & optimizing provider scheduling templates.
• Patient Relations: Act upon strategies to enhance the patient experience. Monitor patient complaints in conjunction with the Patient Relations representatives to identify trends and plans of correction.
• Leadership: Provides leadership accountability and oversight for Nursing and clinical practice and strategies supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care in the community group practices.
• Strategic Planning: Participates in long-range strategic planning and short-range implementation to ensure sites are managed in a consistent manner that embraces patient-centered service and service excellence standards and utilizes efficient operational processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUMMARY:
Performs other related duties as requested by the Regional Medical Director/or Gotham Health COO or CMO.
1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3) below.
2. A Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education or an equivalent field and a minimum of six years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which four years shall have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity; or,
3. A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and seven years of satisfactory nursing experience, five years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or,
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
CERTIFICATION{S)/LICENSE(S):
Current certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing, preferred.
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
Degree of Nursing or related field required.
KNOWLEDGEABLE IN :
1. A clinician ( qualified to provide patient care in his/her field of practice.)
2. An interest in the broad social, political and economic trends influencing the health and social care agenda.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years' experience within a healthcare setting in ambulatory (s) clinical department(s), service line(s), and/or related. 3 years Supervisory/Management experience and overseeing department(s)/service line(s) in a healthcare setting.
