Job summary

Miami University invites applications for the Associate Director for the Wilks Institute of Leadership & Service within the Leadership & Greek Life team. The role supports student engagement, leadership development, and community building across campus.

The Associate Director supervises three Assistant Directors and collaborates with students, advisors, and community leaders to create opportunities for leadership growth and belonging.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree prior to the start date required.
• 3-5+ years of professional experience in Student Affairs, Higher Education or related fields.
• Knowledge of collegiate leadership development theories.
• Knowledge of service and community engagement theories.
• Demonstrated experience in supervision of professional and/or graduate assistants and student staff.
• Familiarity with proven assessment practices.
• Knowledge of and experience with fraternity and sorority chapters and/or communities.

Responsibilities

• Exercise collaborative leadership within the LFSL team and the Institute to ensure the development and coordination of leadership and community engagement activities and programs.
• Provide leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of several leadership retreats and workshops that serve a variety of student communities.
• Represent the LFSL team on several campus committees that are aligned with the civic and community engagement initiatives of the Institute.
• Develop and manage policy for use of website and social media accounts and communications and marketing efforts in collaboration with all areas of the LFSL Office.
• Teach EDL 290, Nature of Group Leadership (Scholar Leader LLC) or similar course on a yearly basis.
• Supervise three Assistant Directors, 1 Graduate Assistant or Intern, Graduate Practicum students and up to 10 undergraduate student employees
• Actively participate in Student Life and University Committees
