Job summary

Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, seeks an Associate Director for the Wilks Institute of Leadership & Service within the Leadership and Fraternity Life team. The role oversees multiple Assistant Directors, advises on leadership development, and represents the LFSL unit on campus committees and strategic communications.

The position emphasizes collaboration with students, community partners, and university colleagues to foster belonging and leadership growth through diverse programs and services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree prior to the start date required
• 3-5+ years of professional experience in Student Affairs, Higher Education or related fields

Responsibilities

• Exercise collaborative leadership within the LFSL team and the Institute to ensure the development and coordination of leadership and community engagement activities and programs
• Provide leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of several leadership retreats and workshops that serve a variety of student communities
• Represent the LFSL team on several campus committees that are aligned with the civic and community engagement initiatives of the Institute. Represent the Center on several campus committees that are aligned with the service and leadership missions of the Institute.
• Develop and manage policy for use of website and social media accounts and communications and marketing efforts in collaboration with all areas of the LFSL Office.
• Teach EDL 290, Nature of Group Leadership (Scholar Leader LLC) or similar course on a yearly basis.
• Supervise three Assistant Directors, 1 Graduate Assistant or Intern, Graduate Practicum students and up to 10 undergraduate student employees
• Actively participate in Student Life and University Committees
