Job summary

Walnut Hill School is seeking an admissions professional to recruit domestic and international applicants for Theater and Music majors, manage a portfolio of prospective students and families, and develop outreach plans.

You will guide applicants through the admission and enrollment process, interview families, present information sessions, coordinate on- and off-campus events, and collaborate with faculty on evaluation and outreach. Evening/weekend flexibility and travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of admission, academic counseling, or related experience required.
  • Independent school experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit domestic and international applicants for Theater and Music majors.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospective students and families.
  • Develop and implement outreach plans for assigned majors.
  • Execute strategies to convert admitted students to enrolled students.
  • Guide students and families through the admission and enrollment process.
  • Communicate with prospective families via email, phone, and virtual platforms.
  • Collaborate with Theater and Music leadership and faculty on applicant evaluation and recruitment.
  • Interview prospective students and families.
  • Read and evaluate applications as an Admission Committee member.
  • Maintain records in the School’s CRM system.
  • Conduct presentations and information sessions.
  • Plan and execute on- and off-campus admission programs, including Open Houses, Admitted Student Days, visits, and auditions.
  • Evaluate and improve communication and applicant-tracking workflows.
  • Expand recruitment pipelines and build relationships with feeder schools, consultants, partners, and organizations.
  • Analyze enrollment data and market trends to inform recruitment strategies.
  • Lead or co-lead major admission events.
  • Coordinate file reading and admission committee processes.
  • Design and oversee yield programming.
  • Partner with marketing and communications on messaging, event promotion, and enrollment campaigns.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, mentor junior staff, and support training and onboarding.
  • Participate in student community activities, school events, performances, and ceremonies.
  • Attend faculty, staff, and department meetings and participate in reviews and evaluations.
  • Report to the Director of Enrollment Management.

Requirements
