Winthrop University’s Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Instructor of Social Work and Associate Director of Practicum Education. The successful candidate will teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, provide mentoring, and lead practicum coordination across BSW and MSW programs.

The role emphasizes student-centered teaching, engagement with community partners, and ongoing program assessment and accreditation activities.

Qualifications

• MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Minimum of two years of post-MSW professional practice.
• Minimum of two years of practicum education experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social work theory, practice, policy, research, and ethics.
• Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to teach and mentor diverse students.
• Experience with practicum placement management systems, LMS, and electronic records.
• Experience with program assessment, accreditation reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Experience building community partnerships and coordinating placements across settings.

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate and graduate Social Work courses.
• Deliver instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
• Attend department meetings and participate in faculty development.
• Engage with community organizations and social work practitioners.
• Assist the Director of Practicum Education in coordination of practicum education.
• Coordinate practicum activities across traditional, online, and other formats.
• Develop, review, and maintain agency affiliation agreements.
• Provide orientation and ongoing support to agency-based practicum instructors.
• Serve as liaison between department and community partners.
• Assist students in identifying appropriate practicum placements.
• Demonstrate collegiality and support Winthrop's mission.
