Job summary

Alexion seeks an Associate Director of Incentive Compensation in Boston, hybrid 3x/week, to lead end-to-end incentive processes for Hem/Neph. You will partner with Finance, HR, Legal, and others to design, benchmark, and administer plans that align with business objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, advanced Excel, and deep knowledge of incentive plans. You will influence senior leadership and ensure compliance with company processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design and administer field-based incentive programs for US Hem/Neph to drive performance.
  • Conduct research and benchmark incentive designs for local competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to enhance data and plan design.
  • Develop models and methodologies for incentive calculations and reporting.
  • Create communication materials for training and executive reviews.
  • Lead senior stakeholders through incentive plan approvals and governance.

Associate Director, Incentive Compensation
Location: Boston, MA (hybrid 3x a week)
Introduction to the role

The Associate Director, Incentive Compensation,Hematology/Nephrologywill play a critical role in the success of Alexion’sHem/Nephbusiness and the Business Operations and Commercial Effectiveness organization! We are looking for someone who will be a critical business partner to USHem/Nephand is accountable for leading and administering theend to endIncentive Compensation process for theHem/Nephdivision.This roleis responsible forbeing a strategic leader within the Business Operations and Commercial Effectiveness group, partnering with the necessary functional areas tooptimizeincentive programs.Successful candidates will provide expert review, advice and counsel on Incentive Plan creation and administration, evaluation, and benchmarking.

What you’ll do:
  • Responsible for the strategic design and administration of field-based compensation programs for the USHem/Nephbusiness that recognize and reward employee performance and drive business results.
  • Performingcomplex research and analysis of rewards and incentive compensation programs in support of business objectives
  • BenchmarkingSales Incentive Plan designs and ensuringlocal market competitiveness.
  • Workingwith internal teams, and potentially outside vendors and consultants, to enhance data availability and incorporate such data into incentive plans.
  • Leadingprojects involving the development of innovative models,methodologiesand approaches.
  • Creatingpresentation material for communications, training, and executive reviews. Managingthe communication and training of incentive compensation plans.
  • Leadingsenior management and key collaborators (Business Operations and Commercial Effectiveness, HR, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional team members) through the approval of incentive plans.
  • Performingquality control measures to ensurehigh levelof accuracy
  • Managingfield inquiries related to incentive compensation
  • Teamingwith technology partners to define system business specifications and automate performance reporting and incentive calculations.
  • Providingongoing monitoring and analysis of incentive plans.
  • Staying on top of federal and state government regulationsimpactingcompensation programs.
  • Ensuringcompliance with Alexion processes touching incentive compensation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degreerequired(Business, Finance, Math, or related major is preferred)
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in raredisease,required.
  • Analytics skills inclusive of advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of various incentive compensation plans, including but not limited to commission, goal, and MBO or equivalent experience plan builds
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to express information in both written and oral context
  • Detail oriented, strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to quicklyestablishrelationships of trust and credibility with internalstakeholder-partnersand to be seen as a partner to the business.
  • High levelof attention to detail paired with the ability to effectively assess and diagnose business needs and develop impactful solutions.
  • In-depth critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and procedures
  • The duties of this role aregenerally conductedin an office environment. The annual base pay for this position ranges from 147,908.00 - 221,862.00 USD.Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
