Job summary

University of California, San Francisco seeks an outstanding Laboratory Associate Director for the Immunogenetics and Transplantation Laboratory (ITL) in the Division of Transplant Surgery. The role requires an MD and/or PhD, ACHI certification, and California licensure or eligibility.

The incumbent will lead serological and molecular histocompatibility testing, QA, teaching, and staff management, collaborating with transplant surgeons and stem cell physicians in a premier transplant program.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD degree or equivalent.
• Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) is required or eligible.
• Experience in serological and molecular histocompatibility testing is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Histocompatibility Laboratory within UCSF's Division of Transplant Surgery.
• Oversee quality systems, teaching, and personnel management of technical and administrative staff.
• Consult with transplant surgeons and hematopoietic stem cell physicians; administer a complex histocompatibility program.
• Foster independent research and contribute to residency training and education programs.
