Job summary

Bruin is seeking an AVP, Assistant Controller in Miami to support a diversified portfolio of alternative investment vehicles. You will work closely with investment teams to ensure accurate NAV, accounting, and reporting across funds.

The role requires 7+ years in fund accounting within hedge funds or alt asset managers, with strong NAV, partnership, and fee knowledge. CPA preferred. This is a hands-on leadership position driving efficiency and scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of experience within fund accounting, fund finance, Big 4 Financial Services, or an alternative asset manager.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly and quarterly NAV packages prepared by third-party fund administrators.
• Oversee fund accounting activities including capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, and partnership accounting.
• Review management fee and incentive/performance fee calculations.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual financial reporting, including audited financial statements.
• Review investor reporting, capital account statements, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with fund launches, restructurings, liquidations, and other strategic initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across the fund finance function.
