Job summary

S&P Global Dow Jones Indices is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build high-performance calculation engines for fixed income indices. You will work with a global, cross-functional team to deliver scalable, auditable analytics in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with Java, C#, Python, or Scala
• Distributed systems, caches and microservices (SpringBoot, JPA)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• SQL and NoSQL — PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra
• Fixed income system design and analytics
• Agile development methodologies and lifecycle
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance calculation engines and services for fixed income indices processing large-scale financial data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions that support critical business operations and client needs
• Drive technical excellence via code reviews, architecture discussions, and best-practice contributions for reliability
• Work in Agile cycles to deliver features for our fixed income platform aligned with industry standards
• Mentor junior developers and promote technical growth via knowledge sharing and pair programming
• Lead modernization initiatives and adopt new technologies to improve performance and maintainability
• Architect and oversee engines and services for index production and analytics, balancing latency, throughput, cost, and correctness
• Lead and grow a team of engineers and quantitative developers with clear expectations on quality and rigor
• Implement end-to-end data lineage, reconciliation, anomaly detection, reproducibility, auditability, and versioning across analytics
