Job summary

Abacus Group, LLC is seeking an Associate Director to join their Manhattan, NY office, focusing on financial reporting and close processes for a digital investment platform client. You will lead monthly close across multiple entities, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and support regulatory filings while ensuring US GAAP compliance.

This role requires 4–6+ years of accounting experience and strong Excel skills in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with monthly close and account reconciliations.
• Direct experience supporting external audits.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Familiarity with SEC / FINRA reporting requirements.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to work across large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly and quarterly close across multiple entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Resolve reconciliation breaks across sub-ledgers and the GL.
• Deliver timely financial reporting in a multi-entity, regulated environment.
• Support preparation of regulatory filings (e.g., 17a-5, 15c3-1).
• Apply broker-dealer accounting across revenue streams.
• Assist with daily and monthly net capital calculations and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with Compliance and Finance on SEC/FINRA/CFTC/NFA requirements.
• Facilitate audit processes by preparing PBC, responding to inquiries, addressing gaps.
• Manage intercompany and consolidation activities, including allocations and eliminations.
