Job description

Associate Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Redwood City, California, United States

Corcept is leading the way in the research and development of cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). To date, we have discovered more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators.

In 2012, we received FDA approval of Korlym (mifepristone), the first approved treatment for hypercortisolism (Cushing’s syndrome).

Today, our team and collaborators continue to unlock the possibilities of cortisol modulation as a way to treat serious diseases. With more than 30 ongoing studies across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology, we remain dedicated to advancing the possibilities of cortisol modulation.

What began as a ripple of scientific truth is now poised to unleash a sea change of discovery representing a fundamental shift in the way we understand and treat disease.

The Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will provide the business and finance leadership teams with financial reporting and guidance around budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support sound business decisions. This role will focus on building strong cross-functional relationships with the Commercial and R&D Development team, support and guide the business through budget decisions and optimize processes to scale with the company’s growth. • Support preparation of financial reporting and narratives for board of director meetings, monthly operating reviews and financial outlooks with executives, quarterly management summaries to support earnings releases
• Develop and update financial outlooks that incorporate the latest business updates and trends
• Proactively identify, develop, and implement processes and procedures to mitigate anticipated challenges and effectively scale with the company’s growth
• Develop and continuously improve reporting and tracking processes and tools to support effective and accurate financial reporting across the company
• Complete special projects as needed and perform other duties, as required

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

• Strong collaborative skills with proven success working in matrixed, cross-functional teams
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with deep attention to detail
• Ability to independently evaluate, communicate, educate, influence, and gain cooperation in reaching consensus, decisions, and action
• Intellectually curious and strategic thinker that can drive change through strong relationships and influence
• Works well with little oversight, owns projects from idea to implementation; willing to roll up sleeves to ensure success
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• Advanced proficiency in Accounting and Budgeting software (Adaptive Planning, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Office Connect)

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Minimum B.S. / B.A. in accounting or finance; CPA a plus
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting / finance
• Prior pharmaceutical experience preferred

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
