Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Associate Director, Financial Operations & Services in Boston to lead staff-facing financial services within Development Finance, overseeing transactional processes, approvals, and policy guidance. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and 5‑7 years of related experience.
Experience managing financial or administrative processes within a complex organization.
Experience managing and developing staff, including supporting employee performance and professional development.
Demonstrated understanding of financial policies, approval processes, documentation requirements, compliance practices, and internal controls.
Experience developing procedures, policy guidance, training resources, or staff communications.
Strong organizational, analytical, systems thinking, and problem‑solving skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
Ability to identify and implement process improvements, support organizational change, and manage competing priorities.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial requirements clearly and build collaborative working relationships.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day financial operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Provide guidance on financial policies, requirements, and resources to Development Office staff.
Monitor service needs, recurring issues, and workload trends; recommend improvements.
Serve as escalation point for complex issues and coordinate resolution with Senior Director of Finance.
Coordinate with enterprise partners to resolve operational issues and implement enterprise processes.
Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
Coordinate initiatives to improve staff experience, financial processes, and service delivery.
Manage and develop direct reports, including coaching, performance reviews, and professional development.
