Job summary

Park University seeks an Associate Director of Financial Aid to provide operational leadership for the university’s financial aid and scholarship functions, overseeing day-to-day student service operations, scholarship awarding, workflow management, and a designated team within Financial Aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with COD and NSLDS.
• Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and guidelines.
• Effective organizational and management skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in rules and regulations.
• Ability to develop and interpret financial data/plans and manage resources.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff at all levels and with diverse student populations.
• Ability to operate financial aid software programs and external systems and web page content management systems.
• Perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage interpersonal conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and train assigned Financial Aid team members.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations for compliance.
• Monitor processing workflows and student records using PowerFAIDS and Workday; identify issues and develop resolution strategies.
• Serve as escalation point for complex student and family financial aid concerns.
• Coordinate with budget responsibilities and monthly reconciliations for Student Employment programs.
• Provide back-up support to the Student Employment Administrator and ensure timely processing of student employees.
• Assist with policy development, review, and documentation reflecting current regulations and practices.
• Oversee scholarship funds, including awarding, renewal, reconciliation, and coordination with Admissions and University partners.
• Collaborate with Advancement and Park University Foundation on donor-funded scholarships.
