Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior manufacturing leader to direct and optimize high‑tech production operations in Andover, MA. You will oversee process optimization, capacity planning, safety, and cross‑functional collaboration across production, engineering, and quality teams.

The role requires extensive leadership experience in manufacturing environments, with a track record of delivering productivity gains, cycle-time reductions, and capacity expansions while maintaining top quality standards.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent plus extensive leadership experience.
  • Minimum 12 years in related manufacturing/quality roles, or 10+ with advanced degree.
  • Experience in management or leadership in manufacturing/operations/engineering/production/semiconductor/quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead back-side processing and resonator fabrication operations to meet schedules.
  • Develop and execute plans to enhance manufacturing performance and cycle times.
  • Act as liaison between production, engineering, quality, and leadership.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks and drive corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean methods (CORE, Six Sigma, 6S, Kaizen).
  • Plan and execute capacity expansion with new equipment/tech.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and throughput while upholding quality.
  • Lead customer engagements, program reviews, and EAC reviews.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and development of employees.
  • Develop training programs to enhance skills and teamwork.
  • Foster a positive environment to promote engagement and retention.
  • Ensure safety compliance and conduct audits and risk assessments.
  • Partner with quality teams to meet standards and regulatory guidelines.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the back-side processing and saw crystal resonator fabrication operations, ensuring efficient and effective performance to meet production schedules and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance manufacturing performance, improve cycle times, and achieve key production targets.
  • Act as a key liaison between production, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, optimize production workflows, and minimize downtime.
  • Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence using lean manufacturing principles, such as CORE, Six Sigma, 6S, and Kaizen.
  • Plan and execute capacity expansion initiatives, including the integration and qualification of new equipment and technologies.
  • Monitor and improve equipment utilization and production throughput while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Be the face of the organization by leading customer engagements, program reviews, and EAC reviews.
  • Oversee the onboarding, training, and development of employees to ensure proper understanding of processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills, encourage teamwork, and support career development.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment that promotes employee engagement and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety training, audits, and risk assessments, and address any identified safety concerns.
  • Partner with quality teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor quality metrics and proactively address process and product quality challenges.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
  • Prior Management or Leadership experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Production, Semiconductor, and/or Quality.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Expertise in semiconductor fabrication or crystal resonator fabrication.
  • Hands‑on experience with CMES, PRISM, and/or Eyelit tools or similar MES or ERP systems.
  • Track record of driving productivity improvements and implementing lean manufacturing practices in a high‑tech manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in managing cross‑functional teams and leading capacity expansion projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex manufacturing processes with a focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Location and Working Arrangements

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.
