The position oversees CAD systems, space standards, ADA coordination, and interactions with departments across campus. The candidate will guide architectural design, budgeting, and project management, working under the director

Qualifications

• Licensed architect in the State of Connecticut.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction technology; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years of experience in the design and construction industry; facilities design, renovation, planning and/or construction preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD; Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works on all phases of facilities planning to meet facility needs.
• Works with faculty and staff in recommending design alternatives.
• Provides professional assistance in design and analysis of equipment, furnishings, and space needs.
• Prepares order-of-magnitude cost estimates for projects and monitors costs.
• Oversees outside contractors on minor capital construction and renovation projects.
• Coordinates and tracks ADA projects including cost estimates and specifications.
