Job summary

Rocketship Public Schools seeks an Associate Director of Employee Relations to lead complex investigations across a multi-state, non-union network and advise leadership on personnel processes and policy alignment with employment laws.

You will oversee HR compliance operations, audits, and training coordination with Legal, Governance, and Talent teams. The role requires strong investigative capabilities and a mission-driven focus on safe, equitable workplaces.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of dedicated Employee Relations experience with at least 3+ years managing multi-state investigations.
• Strong knowledge of federal employment law and ability to interpret/state requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin or related field; professional HR certifications valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead neutral, timely investigations into complex or high-risk matters across multiple states.
• Produce thorough, objective investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
• Maintain confidential investigative files meeting legal and organizational requirements.
• Coordinate with regional legal counsels to evaluate multi-state compliance risks.
• Advise school and network leadership through personnel processes and documentation workflows.
• Audit termination, suspension, and non-renewal actions for consistency and liability minimization.
• Oversee HR records governance and external audits/reporting.
