Job summary

Hofstra University is seeking an Associate Director to oversee day‑to‑day operations of the STEP program and support CSTEP and LPP. You will collaborate with teachers, develop curricula, plan programs, advise students, administer workshops, and manage budgets and reporting for NYSED grants.

The role includes coordinating Saturday/Summer Scholars’ Academy, advising students on academics, and handling consultant contracts, invoices, and data reporting across multiple grant-funded initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least two years of successful administrative experience in educational or social programs.
  • Proven and progressive experience implementing grant‑funded or similar project goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Saturday/Summer Scholars’ Academy programming, including scheduling, teacher supervision, evaluations, and student support.
  • Advise pre‑collegiate and collegiate students on academics, tutoring, and program needs while coordinating workshops.
  • Manage budgets, process payments, reconcile expenses, and prepare consultant contracts and invoices.
  • Maintain student records and data for NYSED reporting and program enrollment across CSTEP, LPP, and STEP.
  • Assist with planning Regents preparation, colloquiums, curriculum development, and instructional materials.
  • Coordinates recognition ceremonies, including invitations, certificates, and event logistics.
  • Organizes student conferences and college tours, including registration, travel, accommodations, and presentations.
  • Travels to local schools, works occasional Saturdays, and overnight trips, and performs additional grant‑funded duties as assigned.
