Recursion is seeking an Associate Director for our early discovery team in Salt Lake City. You will lead a group of computational biologists, integrate large datasets, nominate new oncology targets, and push promising programs toward nomination with a data-driven approach.

You will balance hands-on technical work with mentorship, define target data packages and population strategies, and collaborate across biology, chemistry, translational, and clinical teams to accelerate medicines to patients.

Qualifications

• PhD with strong computational focus and 3+ years in biotech/pharma OR MS with 5+ years in biotech/pharma solving early drug discovery problems.
• Domain expertise in oncology or immunology.
• Experience applying computational methods to integrate complex biological and clinical data using high-level programming languages.

Responsabilités

• Drive target discovery by evaluating molecular evidence for nomination and validation.
• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and computational biologists.
• Prototype novel methods for target discovery and early patient population hypotheses.
• Define internal criteria for target data packages and early population strategy.
• Collaborate with biology, medicinal chemistry, translational, and clinical leads to build data packages for milestones.
• Present data analyses to external decision makers in a clear, compelling way.
