Job summary

Worcester Academy, a valued day-boarding school in New England, seeks an Associate Director of College Counseling to manage a caseload of approximately 40–50 juniors and seniors. The role reports to the Director of College Counseling and collaborates with a Senior Associate Director and an Administrative Assistant.

The position focuses on direct counseling, essay coaching, and guidance through the college search, applications, and financial aid. Some evening/weekend work is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the college admissions process and financial aid.
• Ability to write compelling letters of recommendation and assist with essays.
• Strong organizational, writing, and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct student and family counseling for 11th and 12th/PG students.
• Provide guidance through the college search, applications, and financial aid.
• Coach essays and advise on personal statements and narratives.
• Develop and participate in college counseling seminars and programming.
• Travel for conferences and college visits as needed.
