Job summary

The State of Colorado is seeking an Associate Director to join the Strategic Initiatives and Finance team, guiding staff, shaping budgets, and advancing decarbonization programs. The role combines leadership with hands-on program management to drive across-unit collaboration.

As a senior leader, you will oversee grant portfolios, engage with partners, ensure fiduciary standards, and help set multi-year strategy while maintaining attention to detail and equitable, innovative outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with three years managing staff.
• Experience in cleantech, decarbonization, energy efficiency, sustainability or related fields.
• Strong program and grant management across full lifecycle.
• Clear, concise communication and ability to synthesize complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop SIFI team, including performance planning and growth opportunities.
• Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, and cross-unit collaboration.
• Manage day-to-day operations for assigned programs and contractor oversight.
• Represent CEO in interagency meetings and public events.
• Build strategic alliances with diverse stakeholders.
