Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society seeks up to two Associate Directors, with start in Fall 2027 or earlier.

Tenured Full or Associate Professors will join the Center’s leadership and oversee operations, research, and outreach in alignment with the Center’s mission. Qualifications

• Ph.D., J.D., or other terminal degree in a field related to the Center’s mission.
• Experience in program administration in a higher education setting.
• Record of publishing high-quality scholarship in prestigious outlets.
• Record of developing and effectively teaching courses that advance the Center’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Director in managing Chase Center operations.
• Teach and publish scholarly research aligned with the Center’s mission.
• Help build strategic relationships with outside scholars, peer programs, departments, and institutes.
• Contribute to creating an academic community where civic life and the life of the mind flourish.
