Job summary

Middlebury College seeks a Senior Facilities Manager to oversee the Central Heating Plant operations, power distribution, and campus mechanical systems. You will supervise staff, manage safety programs, and coordinate with engineering and trades for reliability.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or electrical engineering, PE license preferred, and substantial leadership experience in operations, budgeting, and project management. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical engineering required.
• PE license and/or MBA preferred.
• Extensive managerial experience in operations, finance and HR.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Central Heating Plant operations and power distribution.
• Lead safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental programs.
• Supervise ~7 hourly staff and coordinate with engineering trades.
• Manage annual operating budget around $5 million.
• Develop and implement 10-year reliability and project plans.
• Coordinate contractor selection and project oversight.
• Ensure maintenance of campus mechanical/electrical systems.
