Job summary

BioTalent is seeking an Associate Director of Cell Line Development in the Boston area to lead and shape our cell line development strategy for monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role guiding the vector design, transfection, clone screening, and cell banking efforts.

Qualifications

• Significant industry experience in cell line development within biopharmaceuticals.
• Deep expertise in mammalian expression systems including CHO, HEK, and NS0.
• Experience developing cell lines for monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.
• Experience leading scientific teams and managing complex development programs.
• GMP, ICH guidelines, CMC activities, and statistical experimental design knowledge.
• Experience with CHO-GS systems and bispecific antibody development is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead mammalian cell line development programs supporting therapeutic protein production.
• Oversee vector development, transfection, clone screening, media optimization, and cell banking.
• Manage and mentor a team of scientists and research associates.
• Drive innovation initiatives, technology implementation, and departmental growth.
• Support CMC documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Partner with clients, business development, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Contribute to strategic planning and departmental objectives.
