Position Title: (Manager / Sr. Manager / Associate Director) – Business Development, Research Services (West Coast)

Location: Remote – Bay Area, CA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development professional to join our Biologics Discovery division. The primary responsibility of this role is to drive new customer acquisition and grow the sales pipeline through proactive outreach, relationship building, and strategic collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biologics research services and a passion for delivering value-driven solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities through active outreach, client meetings, and networking events.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to effectively communicate the company’s capabilities in biologics research and support consultative selling.
  • Foster and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients by providing high-quality support and building trust.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing, project management, and technical operations to develop strategies that support business growth.
  • Gather and analyse market intelligence, including industry trends, pricing strategies, and competitive landscape.
  • Track and report on competitor activity to support strategic planning within the department.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required; advanced degrees in science or business (e.g., PhD, MBA) are preferred.
  • Prior experience in sales or business development within the life sciences or biotech industry is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of biologics discovery processes, including antibody drug discovery, recombinant protein expression and purification. Familiarity with downstream preclinical assays is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute strategic initiatives and influence decision-making processes.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally within a team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
