Job summary

Arbor Biotechnologies in Cambridge, MA, seeks an Associate Director to lead bioanalytical sciences and biomarker strategies for in vivo gene editing programs. You will drive assay development, validation, and non-clinical/clinical sample analysis with cross-functional partners.

Reporting to Translational Research, you will oversee internal assay teams, guide IND/CTA documentation, and mentor 3–4 junior scientists, ensuring robust regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology or related field with 8+ years in biotech/pharma biomarker development.
• Led method development, qualification, and validation for GLP and clinical studies.
• Deep expertise in validation under GLP and GCLP with IND-enabling work.
• Experience with gene editing or nucleic acid therapeutics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioanalytical and biomarker assay strategy for in vivo gene editing programs.
• Oversee assay development, qualification, validation, and sample analysis plans.
• Mentor a team of 3-4 scientists; manage CROs and external labs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform program strategy and regulatory submissions.
• Author validation and study reports for IND/CTA submissions.
