Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking an Associate Director – Process Engineering to supervise and develop the engineering team supporting the LP2 advanced therapies manufacturing facility. You will oversee process, automation, and plant engineers and ensure compliant operations across capital projects from concept to close-out.

The role emphasizes driving operational excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic site planning to deliver high-quality medicines.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing-related experience, preferably including biosynthetic drug substance and/or sterile drug product operations.
• Experience with leading and supervising engineering teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop engineering staff, including process, automation, and plant engineers.
• Oversee delivery of capital projects from concept through close-out in a compliant manner, coordinating across process, automation, plant, and project engineering.
• Drive operational excellence by ensuring compliance, tracking KPIs, and removing barriers to team performance.
• Set and reinforce standards for engineering rigor and First Principles application with Global Engineering and LP2 teams.
• Act as a site leadership member, partnering on long-term master plan strategy and recapitalization efforts.
