Job summary

AbbVie seeks a leader in data governance to shape strategic direction for semantic governance and a trusted enterprise data foundation. You will bridge business stakeholders, data ops, and BTS to drive alignment with commercial strategy and AI enablement.

Responsibilities include defining governance standards, data quality rules, and end-to-end lineage, while influencing senior stakeholders and guiding vendor partnerships to deliver enterprise value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in information systems, business analytics, computer science, or related field.
• 7+ years of data governance, data architecture, or data management experience.
• Experience with Alation or Collibra and MDM platforms (Reltio, Informatica).
• Strong SQL and knowledge of cloud data ecosystems (Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
• Pharma/Life Sciences experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Alignment & Semantic Governance: design semantic governance processes and lineage.
• Define enterprise semantic layer design, glossary, and canonical data models.
• Operationalize data quality rules, anomaly detection, and health scoring.
• Influence executives and represent governance in steering forums.
• Oversee standards and adherence across analytics teams and vendors.
