Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ seeks an Associate Director for Decision Intelligence to lead analytics, optimization, and data platforms within DSCS.

You will translate business needs into mathematical models and build AI-enabled decision workflows, while developing data pipelines and collaborating on WebApps and DevOps. The role requires 5+ years in data science or OR, pharma experience preferred, strong Python/ML skills, and familiarity with Databricks, SQL, and agentic AI tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data science, OR data eng or related highly technical role.
• Pharma development or clinical supply chain experience preferred.
• Strong Python and ML model deployment experience.
• Databricks and MLOps experience preferred.
• Translate complex requirements into technical roadmaps.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI and AI workflows.
• GitHub version control; VS Code proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Translate business processes into mathematical models and technical specs.
• Translate data outputs into clear business insights for stakeholders.
• Develop business cases and articulate value for digital capabilities.
• Define and track KPIs to monitor value of digital transformation.
• Model, simulate and optimize business processes.
• Design data pipelines with Databricks, Python, Dataverse, SQL.
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows with Copilot Studio.
• Develop and deploy WebApps for user interaction with data.
• Utilize VS Code and GitHub for code management and DevOps.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure scalable, secure systems.
• Document processes and provide training for end users.
