Job summary

Loyola University Chicago is seeking an Associate Director for Academic Advising Technologies to lead the advising technology portfolio across Loyola's campuses. The role ensures optimal use of the student information system, provides end-user training, and partners with ITS and academic units to meet evolving needs.

The position emphasizes strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and the development of a workshop series to train staff on advising technologies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in information systems, higher education, student affairs, education, business administration, computer science, academic advising, or a related field.
• At least three years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, application administration, business analysis, technology support, academic advising technology, or a related area.
• Experience evaluating system functionality, testing new features, identifying defects or gaps, and supporting the implementation of system enhancements.
• Experience translating business and advising needs into system requirements, process maps, workflow documentation, or technology recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience providing end-user support, troubleshooting system issues, and serving as a subject-matter expert or primary point of contact for an application or technology platform.
• Experience coordinating with information technology staff, vendors, and cross-functional campus or organizational stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to travel between Loyola's Lake Shore, Water Tower, and Health Sciences campuses as needed.
• Ability to embrace, promote, and articulate the University's Jesuit, Catholic identity.

Responsibilities

• Liaises with vendors of academic advising systems and manages existing vendor contracts.
• Assesses new product features, conducts product testing, and partners with campus stakeholders to understand applicability to workflows.
• Manages process maps and workflow summaries for advising technology systems and key processes.
• Develops communications and resources to launch new features and systems improvements and supports adoption of features.
• Serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert on advising technology systems.
• Responds to user inquiries related to advising technologies and offers guidance on system features and functions.
• Drives campus adoption of advising technologies through stakeholder engagement.
• Establishes communities of practice for advising technologies to facilitate information sharing across campus units.
• Develops an academic advising technologies workshop series for trainings of new staff and refreshers.
