Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians in Florence, SC is seeking a Senior Manager to oversee ambulatory operations within the department's portfolio. You will lead multiple professional staff, manage budgets, and drive strategic initiatives to improve clinical workflows and patient care across delivery settings.

You will collaborate with physician leaders, use data to drive performance, and guide change management while partnering with senior leadership to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, health care management, business administration or a related degree (or equivalent experience) required.
  • Master’s degree in healthcare related field such as Nursing, Healthcare Administration or MBA is preferred.
  • Five (5) years of management work experience in ambulatory care leadership role or appropriate clinical area required; demonstrated ability to work effectively with physician leaders; talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality, effective team; proven ability to lead change, organize teams, and delegate responsibility appropriately; proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 8 years progressive work experience and 3 years management experience

Job Description

Senior manager for one or more functional areas of a department or business unit. Manages two or more professional and support staff including subordinate managers. More discretion and greater financial authority than lower management levels. Manages and leads the analysis, planning, implementation, and expenditures and budget tracking of major operational projects or initiatives. Provides recommendations to the leaders throughout the organization. Manages initiatives, strategic priorities and programs which have an impact on the organization. Works independently and in collaboration with leadership to support the budget process and meeting key operational goals. Plans , organizes, facilitates, monitors, and evaluates activities and functions of the department/functional business area based on employee/organizational goals. Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical and non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings.

In addition to providing operational oversight to leaders for Ambulatory, this role is a key collaborator with the relevant departments and a thought leader in ambulatory quality and safety, coordination of care across the continuum, use of technological tools and solutions, metrics reporting, customer service, and process improvement.

Minimum Education and Experience

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted. Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force are needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force are required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. * *Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function. * *Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
