Ontic is seeking an Associate DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Austin. This entry-level role focuses on bridging development and operations while maintaining security and reliability for cloud-based services.

You will support cloud initiatives and ongoing service maintenance, collaborating with DevOps professionals in the U.S. and India to build your technical expertise in a growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 6–12 months experience.
• Foundational Linux, networking, scripting, and OS concepts.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/AZURE).
• Understanding of Python and DevOps tools through internships or projects.
• Exposure to AI concepts/tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the global DevOps team to maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure across cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Learn and implement automation scripts (Python/Bash) to improve operational efficiency.
• Support CI/CD pipeline tasks with Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Monitor application and server health and resolve system issues.
• Explore integration of AI tools into DevOps workflows.
• Maintain and update documentation for systems, processes, and infrastructure.

Who You Are

As an Associate DevOps Engineer at Ontic, you will join our growing engineering team to help bridge the gap between development and operations. This is an entry-level role designed for a motivated graduate to learn the ropes of maintaining high-level security and reliability for our cloud-based services.

You will support our team in cloud initiatives and ongoing service maintenance. As an integral part of our global team, you will collaborate closely with DevOps professionals in the U.S. and India, contributing to projects while building your technical expertise in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the global DevOps team to maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure across cloud environments (AWS/GCP).


• Learn and implement automation scripts (Python/Bash) to improve operational efficiency.


• Support CI/CD pipeline tasks, gaining hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.


• Monitor application and server health, learning to identify, analyze, and resolve system issues.


• Explore the integration of AI tools and concepts into our DevOps workflows.


• Maintain and update documentation for systems, processes, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (6-12 months of experience)


• Foundational knowledge of Linux, Networking, scripting and OS concepts


• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/AZURE)


• Understanding of Python


• Understanding of DevOps tools (Docker, Jenkins, Git, Docker/containers, Kubernetes) through internships or projects


• Exposure to AI concepts/tools

This role is based in Austin, Texas, and requires to work from the Austin office three days a week.

This role supports a FedRAMP environment and requires that work be performed within the United States by individuals authorized to work in the U.S. and who are U.S. citizens.
