Job summary

BCI Brands seeks a creative, highly organized Associate Designer to join our Design team. This hands-on role supports the Head of Design and Designer through concept, trend research, development, and final production in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate balances creativity with commercial and merchandising needs, with strong technical design skills, garment construction knowledge, and proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop. Portfolio required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fashion design experience, preferably within the contemporary market.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary fashion, market trends, and commercial product development.
• Garment construction, fit, fabric qualities, and production processes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; Procreate experience is a plus.
• Strong color, print, fabric, and merchandising sense.
• Ability to pivot quickly and manage multiple development timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proactive, collaborative approach.
• Microsoft 365; Exenta/Centric PLM a plus.
• Portfolio required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Design and Designer throughout the seasonal design and development process.
• Research seasonal and emerging fashion, color, fabric, print, and silhouette trends and contribute to inspiration boards, concept boards, sketches, and seasonal presentations.
• Support fast-turn and chase collection development, balancing current production with seasonal development timelines.
• Update and reinterpret reorder and carryover bodies with fresh design ideas, fabrics, colors, prints, and details.
• Source and develop fabrics, trims, and novelty materials for seasonal and chase development.
• Partner with Production and Fabric teams on fabric and trim development, cost-driven material changes, and production needs.
• Collaborate with the CAD/Print team on print development, recolors, scale, placement, and artwork updates.
• Create accurate flat sketches in Procreate or Illustrator and support tech packs with the Technical Designer.
• Assist with reviewing lab dips, strike-offs, and development submits; support approvals with Designer.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Technical Design, and other teams to move development forward and maintain design intent.
• Contribute to fabric, color, print, and style assortments with merchandising perspective.
• Assist with seasonal files, development materials, design sheets, and PLM updates during peak periods.
