Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. is seeking a Sock/Hosiery Designer for an on-site role in Midtown Manhattan.

You will work with the Design Director on the product design cycle for socks, sketch flats in Illustrator, develop ideas, and create detailed tech packs toward production. The ideal candidate has a Fashion Design degree, 1+ years in sock/hosiery design, knowledge of construction, and proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fashion Design.
• 1+ years experience in Sock/Hosiery Design.
• Knowledge of sock/hosiery design and construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design Director on the product design cycle for Socks.
• Sketch accurate design flats in Adobe Illustrator.
• Develop new ideas and create design CADS.
• Create accurate and detailed tech packs.
• Daily review and follow up with factories on lab dips, strike offs, Pre-Production and TOP samples.
• Proactive market and trend research to stay on top of market trends.
• Adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
• Track and manage sample status.
• Assist with records and samples organized.
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including production and sales.

Sweet Apparel Inc. is a fast-paced apparel manufacturer specializing in quick turn production for juniors, women’s, men’s, and kids’ clothing. Teams collaborate closely across design, production, and operations to bring fashion-forward products to market efficiently.

Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!

Responsibilities

• Work with Design Director on all facets of the product design cycle for Socks
• Ability to sketch accurate design flats on Adobe Illustrator
• Develop and design new ideas and create visually pleasing design CADS
• Create accurate and detailed tech packs.
• Daily review and follow up with factories on garment life cycle, from lab dips & strike offs to Pre-Production and TOP samples.
• Proactive market and trend research to always be on top of market trends.
• Ability to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met
• Track and manage sample status
• Assist with records and samples organized
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including production, and sales.

Target compensation for this role starts at $60k/yr dependent on experience
