Job summary

G-III Apparel Group in New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District, is seeking an Associate Designer for French Connection Sportswear. This on-site role reports to the Design Director/VP of Design and supports development from sketches to tech packs.

You will create CADs, manage tech packs, source fabrics, and coordinate with factories while maintaining line sheets and BOMs in a fast-paced fashion environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional apparel design experience.
• College degree in Fashion Design or equivalent required.
• Experience in a high SKU count environment.
• Strong understanding of apparel styles, components, and production lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Illustrator & Photoshop, MS Excel, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Create sketches for development, both hand sketches and Illustrator flats.
• Prepare tech packs and maintain line sheets.
• Research trims and fabrics each season; source new materials.
• Create CAD presentations for internal and external use.
• Organize design development materials and coordinate with factories.
• Attend fittings and revise tech packs; communicate updates to suppliers.
• Enter PLM data and create BOMs for production.
• Coordinate domestic and overseas development to meet timelines.
