G-III Apparel Group in New York City seeks a Senior Technical Designer to translate design vision into manufacturable garments, leading fit sessions and guiding development from showroom samples to production approvals.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Women's Suits and Ready-to-Wear, ensuring quality, fit, and execution while leveraging PLM tools and standard apparel specs. This role offers strong growth within a global fashion organization.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent professional experience required.
• 7+ years of Technical Design experience in woven dresses, blouses, suits, and ready-to-wear.
• Expertise in apparel fitting, garment specifications, and pattern evaluation.
• Working knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong project management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and global offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage product lifecycle from showroom sample through pre-production fit approval.
• Oversee pre-production sample development, ensuring alignment with design intent and quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive technical packages with final graded specifications and construction details.
• Lead live fit sessions to evaluate and refine garment fit, construction, and quality.
• Execute fit comments and communicate updates to vendors and global teams.
• Provide grading guidelines and ensure accurate size grading that preserves fit and design integrity.
• Partner with Product Development, Design, and Production to maintain timelines and milestones.
• Create and manage WIP reports to track development progress and garment delivery status.
