J.Crew Jewelry in New York, NY is seeking a Designer to drive seasonal product design from concept to final development. You will coordinate creative execution across the product, collaborating with Merchandising, Production and Technical Design to uphold design integrity and timely delivery.

The role requires 4–5 years of design experience, strong illustration skills, and proficiency in Illustrator/Photoshop, with a BA in Fashion Design.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years design experience in fashion/accessories.
• Strong illustration and presentation capabilities.
• Proficient with Illustrator, Photoshop and MS Office.
• Knowledge of garment construction, textiles and pattern/fit.
• Able to conduct color/print research and trend analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and unify creative execution of product.
• Manage creative and technical development within the merchandise plan.
• Research seasonal trends, themes, color, raw materials and styling.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production and Technical Design.
• Conduct fittings and create design cards for first prototypes.
• Develop and counter source yarn/fabric and trim with production.
• Approve lab dips and fabric/yarn submissions.
• Oversee overseas travel for trade exhibitions and design research.
