Job summary

Aéropostale in New York is seeking an Associate Designer for Girls’ Wovens to support seasonal collections through trend research, CADs, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will develop concepts, build tech packs, and contribute to product storytelling while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced retail environment.

Strong proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop, a solid understanding of fabrics and construction, and excellent communication with vendors are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.
• 3-4 years of apparel design experience in teen/young adult brands.
• Experience in fast-paced retail or wholesale environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze seasonal fashion trends to support collection development.
• Maintain brand aesthetic while contributing design ideas and CADs.
• Develop seasonal concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and product strategies.
• Create CADs, technical sketches, colorways, and presentations using Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Develop design concepts, trims, washes, and graphics for storytelling.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Sourcing on development.
• Create and maintain tech packs with construction specs and BOM information.
• Review fit samples with Technical Design and ensure design intent.
• Track revisions and maintain organized records for on-time development.
• Update PLM systems with accurate product information.
