Job summary

BCI Brands seeks an Associate Designer to work with the Design Director on developing the line across CeCe, Vince Camuto, Ted Baker, 1.State and Parker brands.

You will design daytime dresses, manage tech packs, and ensure alignment with market trends. Expect collaboration with sales, production, and in-house sewing room to bring new silhouettes to life.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of fashion design experience.
  • Required background in daytime dress design.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and patterns.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; self-starter and proactive worker.
  • Enthusiastic and team-oriented with sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of Exenta is a plus.
  • Must be fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator; Procreate experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Creative Director from inspiration to final production.
  • Communicate daily with sales and production to ensure design sheets are completed properly and timely.
  • Create and execute on the Creative Director's vision, aligning with market trends and brand identity.
  • Develop Design sheets in Exenta (PLM System).
  • Update reorder bodies with new ideas and upcoming trends.
  • Source trims, prints, and novelty fabrics with vendors in the market.
  • Choose matching linings and set up new silhouettes in prints and fabrics for in-house sewing.
  • Assist head designer in creating and organizing a cohesive line.
  • Create inspiration boards.

The Associate Designer will work closely with the Design Director on the development of the line.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Creative Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production
  • Communicate daily with sales and production to ensure design sheets are being completed properly and in a timely manner
  • Create and execute on the vision of the Creative Director, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends, while defining the brand identity and overall business strategy
  • Develop Design sheets in Exenta (PLM System)
  • Update reorder bodies with new ideas while incorporating upcoming trends
  • Source trims, prints and novelty fabrics with venders/In the market
  • Choose matching linings
  • Set up new silhouettes in prints and new fabrications in our in-house sewing room to get cut and sewn
  • Support the head designer in creating and organizing a cohesive line
  • Create inspiration boards
Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of fashion design experience
  • Required background in daytime dress design
  • Knowledge of garment construction and patterns
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication; self-starter and proactive worker
  • Enthusiastic and team-oriented with sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of Exenta is not required, but is definitely a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Pattern construction would be great, but not required
  • Must be fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator; experience working in Procreate would be great, but not required
  • Must be proficient in creating tech packs
  • Must have a strong understanding of placement prints, including how to effectively layout prints within garment patterns to maximize fabric yield
  • Must be able to sketch (Flats/Floats) in Procreate or Illustrator
  • Learns quickly and eager to learn all parts of the industry
  • Must have an eye for Merchandising, Assorting Fabrics/Garments accordingly
  • Must be comfortable with long hours, if needed

The salary range for this full-time role is dependent upon experience between $70-80k.
