Job description

Position Summary

The Associate Dentist (AD) is responsible for administering, maintaining, and expanding a program of primary (and in selected cases, secondary) care and preventive dental care in a group practice setting. ADs play a leadership role in the office and are expected to partner with Office Managers to drive positive culture and performance. The AD reports to the Chief Dental Officer. This position is Part Time, working Mondays and Fridays!

Job Duties/Expectations
  1. Consistently model the core values and code of conduct of Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry
  2. Provide hands-on patient care as scheduled each week
  3. Review and follow all dental office protocols, policies, and procedures including use of lab and supply formulary
  4. Perform quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity
  5. Promote oral health by providing educational information on all phases of preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene
  6. Document and follow treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy
  7. Manage medical/dental history with a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's general health
  8. Address all contraindications pertaining to treatment and identify patient's chief complaint or reason for visit
  9. Ensure necessary diagnosis and coding are properly documented
  10. Ensure compliance with OSHA and dental board procedures
  11. Guide professional staff to deliver services that meet or exceed dentistry standards of care
  12. Participate in assessments and interviews of applicant hygienists and dental assistants, providing feedback to Operations, HR, and Clinical leaders
  13. Assist in training new hygienists and dental assistants
  14. Provide input to Office Manager for annual performance reviews of all office team members
  15. Attend and participate in daily huddles
  16. Assist with clinically-related patient concerns by reviewing charts and contacting patients as needed
  17. Escalate significant patient concerns via the Risk Management platform
  18. Assist Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) with insurance denial appeals, credentialing, coding, or billing issues as needed
Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements:

  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited dental school
  • Valid state dental license and malpractice insurance
  • Valid DEA license
  • Current CPR Certification
