Job summary

University of Florida is seeking an Associate Dean for Academic Programs in CALS to provide college‑wide leadership for undergraduate and graduate academic programs. The role focuses on online and distance education, teaching, professional development, and undergraduate support.

The incumbent collaborates with UF/IFAS and international partners, supports study abroad and certificate programs, and advances faculty development and teaching enhancements within CALS.

Qualifications

• Internal search – open to current permanent UF faculty only.
• Earned doctorate in agriculture, food, natural resources, life sciences, or a closely related discipline and qualified for a tenured appointment at the rank of full professor in one of the CALS departments.
• Strong written and oral communication and the ability to work with administrators, faculty, and students is required.
• Commitment to UF core values and to the land‑grant mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide college-wide leadership for CALS undergraduate and graduate academic programs.
• Lead online and distance education, teaching and professional development, and undergraduate support.
• Coordinate CALS study abroad, international exchange, and certificate/degree programs; support international activities.
• Support faculty development and evaluation processes (promotion/tenure, post-tenure review).
