Job summary

The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean of the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management at The California State University, Chico, assisting in leading the Departments, Programs and Centers to carry out the College's mission and goals in conjunction with the University’s strategic plan. The Associate Dean serves as the primary operations administrator of the College.

This senior leadership role works with Department Chairs and Directors to achieve college

Qualifications

• Required Education and Experience: Doctorate or appropriate terminal degree or direct experience with one of the disciplines in the College of ECC. Also, direct experience in managing a unit. Teaching, scholarly and creative activity, and service experience sufficient to be tenured within the University.
• Preferences: Knowledge of supervisory practices and employee-employer relationships; knowledge of planning, managing, and directing committees and program related activities; excellent communication, organizational and collaboration skills; listening, analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills; competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Departments, Programs and Centers to carry out the College's mission and goals in conjunction with the University’s strategic plan.
• Serve as the primary operations administrator of the College and be a key member of the College leadership team.
• Collaborate with Department Chairs, Advancement Director, Program Coordinators and Directors to achieve common goals and outcomes.
