Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking an Associate Data Scientist to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to transform data into actionable insights. You will contribute to analytics, reporting, visualization, and data science initiatives while gaining hands-on experience with modern tools and methodologies.

The role emphasizes curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a data-related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in data analytics or data science roles.
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Experience with Power BI, Excel, or similar visualization tools.
• Understanding of basic statistical concepts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, validate, and maintain data for reporting and analysis.
• Perform ad-hoc and recurring analyses to identify trends and insights.
• Prepare datasets and conduct exploratory data analysis.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or Excel.
• Support development and testing of predictive models under supervision.
• Apply basic statistical techniques to analyze data for decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate into solutions.
• Document business requirements and analytical processes.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support data quality initiatives and improve data collection processes.
• Partner with data engineering to support analytics initiatives.
• Use SQL, Python, Excel and other tools for analysis and reporting.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and track work items in Azure DevOps.
