Job description

Dark Burn Creative, a division of Trailer Park Group (TPG), is one of gaming's most prominent and growing entertainment marketing agencies, specializing in global content creation, trailers/promotions, and gameplay capture. We combine our creative storytelling expertise with large-scale production resources, uniquely positioning us to create, market, and distribute gaming content for our diverse client portfolio of top gaming development companies and major brands.

We are seeking an awesome Associate Creative Director for our gaming marketing agency, Dark Burn Creative. This role will work within video games to help create compelling stories for our trailers and coming attractions work.

Our Associate Creative Director works directly with the client to steer the creative direction of an asset in conjunction with the Creative Director or Sr. Creative Director, combining the client's notes, management’s notes, and their notes when permitted.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ROLE REQUIRES ON-SITE, FULL-TIME WORK IN OUR WOODLAND HILLS, CALIFORNIA OFFICE.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Works on complex issues where creative challenges require technical, creative, and franchise knowledge.
  • Oversee the creative direction and strategy for the assets to which they are assigned.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and creative approaches for obtaining results.
  • Ability to autonomously lead a trailer/creative asset to a presentable state for creative director approval.
  • Collaborate directly with capture teams to create and iterate on shots.
  • Craft scenes and scripts to inform game capture and editorial process.
  • Networks with internal and external leaders and personnel in their field of expertise.
  • Able to generate or help drive another CD’s vision for an asset, leading it through all phases from scripting/concepting, preproduction, production, and post-production to successful completion.
  • Competent in working with writers, motion graphics artists, editors, capture teams, sound, and finishing.

ABOUT YOU:

  • 3+ years with Art Direction, with a minimum of 3 years experience at a Post-Production House, ad agency, or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of video games and a genuine passion for playing them.
  • Hand-on experience in crafting creative content, including scripting, editorial, and capture.
  • Knowledge of Premiere is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Comfortable in a constantly evolving industry.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a huge plus but not required.
  • Openness to constructive criticism and willingness to engage in several rounds of feedback.
